Looking Good For New Year’s Eve

What will you be rocking out in to ring in 2013??? I know for me it’s going to be a sparkly skirt!!! I’m infatuated with the brand ALLSAINTS! They do clothes with attitude, giving women and men the ability to do a chic version of “rock n’ roll”.

So how to wear that sparkly skirt? Remember the skirt is the star. Let it stand out on its own! Pair it with the simplest top, like a black or white tank or tee. If you live in the Northeast like I do then a jacket or sweater will be essential this time of year. I love denim jackets, a wardrobe staple in my book, for everyone. Put on that denim jacket to create a bit of the unexpected. Or wear a simple cropped blazer or cardigan…you can’t go wrong with any of these.

Lets talk jewelry…remember the skirt should stand on its own so don’t drown yourself in jewels. I have a zone rule when dressing …divide your body in segments of three…head, neck, and include ears, zone 1, chest, and stomach zone 2, waist, thighs, and include wrists, zone 3. Then evaluate each zone and see if there is too much going on in that area. Example…a large pair of earrings with a chunky short necklace…too much, or a sparkly skirt with a large sequined bracelet and a long necklace…edit. So my advice for these skirts…a large earring, with no necklace, or a small stud with a shorter necklace, and an understated bracelet.

Shoes…AllSaints not only does fabulous clothes but they also do amazing shoes! I love skirts with a great stiletto of any kind. But don’t be afraid to experiment with a motorcycle boot, a cute ankle bootie, or even a lace-up military inspired boot! You can’t go wrong!!!

I hope you all have a safe New Year and a fabulous, fashionable year ahead!
