Spent a day with a client drowning in a sea of blue. I had never seen so many shades of blue in one wardrobe! My client, a beautiful 50-year-old women, recently divorced, reentering the work force and recovering from the after-math of hurricane Sandy (her home was devastated by the storm). With over $200,000 in storm damage, my client could not afford a whole new wardrobe and was looking for help to re-work what she already owned. Her typical uniform, jeans, a blue top, and blue or tan shoes! My recomendations…add pops of color with accessories…shoes, scarves, belts, handbags and invest in one great jacket that would work with both work and casual attire.
Embrace the super figure flattering power of the peplum! There’s a reason the peplum has been a reoccurring style throughout the decades and it’s not going away any time soon! It has graced the runways for Fall 2013!
A great peplum accent instantly slims the waist line and complements curves. Seen on jackets (my favorite), tops, dresses, skirts, and even on pants! There are two kinds of peplums, fitted or flared. A fuller, flared peplum will add shape and create curves! Works great on a boyish or straight figures. A fitted peplum, will work its magic by concealing a tummy and is best suited for an hourglass shape.
Hope you find the power in the peplum!
